Who am I? Here are the words that I would use: Christian. Husband. Father. Principal. Educator.
Professionally - I am the Superintendent of Pinellas Preparator Academy, Inc., a non profit organization that operates two charter schools, Pinellas Preparatory Academy and Pinellas Primary Academy. I have been with PPA since 2005, and have helped the school grow from 194 students to a two-school system with 728 students. Previously I worked for Appleton Area School District, in Appleton, Wisconsin where I spent 4 years as a special education teacher, working with students who had cognitive disabilities, and then one year as a 4th/5th grade combination classroom teacher.
Education - I have a Masters Degree from Cardinal Stritch University (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) in Educational Leadership, and a Bachelor's Degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin - Oshkosh.
Why this blog? I've just completed the Google Teachers Academy for Administrators and have been amazed and overwhelmed. My first blog post will talk more about that, but I've decided there needs to be a place for step-by-step tips on how to many Google apps available, geared towards educators, and how they can use it in the classroom. So I've decided to start this Blog as a place, initially, to talk about the tools geared in big part towards the teachers in my school, but generally to educators everywhere.
If you have suggestions, tips or things you would like me to highlight, please email me and let me know!
